Supervised Independent Living (SIL) is a state-supported program available to youth who choose to remain in foster care after turning 18. Once approved, young adults may live in apartment-style, dorm-style, or shared housing environments designed to support independent living. While housing is provided through the SIL program, many youth still face challenges transitioning into adulthood without consistent guidance or support. Our foundation exists to help bridge that gap.
Although CPS support typically ends at age 21, we are committed to connecting youth with ongoing resources and support opportunities that may continue into early adulthood.
From hygiene to clothing, we make sure every youth has what they need to show up with dignity. No hand-me-downs, no shortcuts. Just brand-new, first-hand everything, because every child deserves to feel like they matter.

Foster Cousins is our signature community initiative, a family-style network that ensures every youth in our care never spends a holiday alone or misses out on the experiences that define childhood.
We call all foster parents, residential treatment center owners, and General Residential Operations to connect their youth with our events so every child can participate in holidays and create real memories.

Many foster children experience birthdays where all they receive is a small cake and a few wishes, and then everything returns to normal. No party, no presents, no one making them feel truly special.
Other children get sports leagues, Halloween costumes, Fourth of July fireworks, and Christmas morning magic. Foster Cousins exists to make sure foster youth get those same experiences, not as an afterthought, but as a promise.
